Tyrannik

Tyranniks are giant plant monsters which are rooted into the ground, awaiting anything which it can ensnare in its tendrils which, when inactive, heavily resemble tree branches. In fact, when the tyrannik is "sleeping", there is almost no way to tell whether or not it's just a regular tree. The only real distinctions are the lack of leaves, and the formation of the tendril-branches around a large, toothy mouth in the center of the beast. The winding tendrils always point upwards at some angle, growing alongside three thick trunks which taper to a point at about ten metres up. These creatures are commonly found growing on the eastern shores of the Elven Isles, ready to trap small boats traveling on the coastline, though they can be found inland as well. A proven method to killing these monsters is just to set them on fire, especially if a fireball makes its way into the deadly mouth. If fire isn't readily available, cutting off the tendrils almost always leads them to die of starvation before they grow back.
